Twitch AI Stream Coach

Twitch is running an experimental AI Stream Coach for creators. The Stream Coach will provide you with "personalized feedback after every stream based on your broadcast. It highlights what's working, where viewers engaged most, and what to try next. Your feedback is auto-generated and personalized to your broadcast."

Twitch admits that the Stream Coach is "for informational purposes only and may contain errors or inaccuracies. Recommendations are not guarantees of outcomes."

Recommendations may include:

• Monetization: It will teach you about Twitch's monetization tools and recommend you use them.
• Engagement: It will presumably use Clips to show you which moments drove engagement and suggest what you could say/do next time to improve your engagement with viewers.
• Channel Setup: It will tell you what you need to add to your channel, like a bio or social links.
• Twitch Education: It will explain Twitch features like Raids and a Schedule.

Context:

Twitch's AI is ALWAYS listening, even if you turn off various AI tools like Twitch Clip That, Auto Clips, Sponsorship Campaign Assist, Stream Summary, etc. This is an extension of that same lane of listening.

My Thoughts:

My core belief is that if Twitch has the money to run this, they should increase sub splits to at least 70%. In a larger perspective, I have seriously complex feelings about AI, especially in the creator space... That said, I do see SOME benefit in having this for NEW creators who don't know how to set up their channel or understand how Twitch works. A guiding hand may make it a bit easier than seeking out Creator Camp. But when it comes to content, I don't think any AI is going to do a good job helping people find THEIR voice. It will help them be like everyone else. And on Twitch, being a 'stock version' or 'the sum of all streamers' is a recipe for bland, basic, and average content. They won't succeed if they don't forge their own path and figure out what works for them.
