Twitch Partner Easier, TikTok Sale, Australia Expands Teen Social Ban + Kai Hits 1M Subs

Good Monday, and welcome to the recap! A ton of updates this week from various platforms, and the creator space overall, along with quite a few industry jobs (and some paid opps if you're attending Twitchcon!) With that said, I'll let the rest of the email speak for itself, and we can jump right into it!

🟪 TWITCH

• Earning Twitch Partner will be slightly easier in the coming weeks, as the number of streams required per month is being reduced from 8 to 6. It's not a big change, but it will have a slight impact.
• Stream Rewind is now available on channels with VODs enabled for paid subscribers or those with Twitch Turbo.
• Streamers will soon have access to a new Moderation Analytics dashboard that shows actions and outcomes during their streams.
• Twitch is experimenting with a Followversary notification.
• The Subtember Finale, where Valorant gifts at least one bonus sub for every 5-gifted subs, is active until October 1st. Imperfect data, but you should theoretically get around 1.15 subs per 5 gifted.
• The upcoming discovery system, which encourages people to post creator clips on their own Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok accounts, has been updated with unlockable badges: Icon, Pro, and Legend.
• Twitch is testing a Pause Subscription feature that gives you an extra 20 days to resubscribe if you want to maintain your sub streak.
• New Twitch Ambassadors via Twitchcon: PiaPiUFO, Polymathic, xxYIKES, Jenntacles, StephOfAnime, Sintica, Nyybeats + more.
• New Emotes: KaiMillion
• New Badges: GP Explorer 3 (Watch 15 Minutes), Mel ($ub), Sonic Racing ($ub), GamerDuo ($ub).
• Twitch has seemingly removed the majority of its ingest points globally. Twitch's CEO says they are shutting down their dedicated hardware and using Amazon's instead.
• Twitch updated its page describing how it recommends streams. Nothing new here, just a rewording and adds the Temu TikTok mobile update feed.

🟥 YOUTUBE

• YouTube is expanding Premium features to more places. The features include High Quality Audio, Faster Playback (up to 4x), and Jump Ahead.
• YouTube is allowing users to Hide End Screens.

⬛ TIKTOK

• Trump has signed off on approving a TikTok deal that will see its sale to a group of American investors. 80% of the ownership will be US-controlled, with 20% held by ByteDance. It may require downloading a new app (unclear). It's also unclear if it will employ a new algorithm.
