Ibai Sets Twitch Records, Day One Monetization, YouTube Audiences, and Ironmouse Ends VShojo

Happy Monday, and welcome to another weekly recap! I'm not sure if this is an experience that any of you can relate to, but I'm always surprised at how much happens when I take a few days off (in this case, for my sister's wedding). I suppose it's a big reason you subscribe to the newsletter. But it's wild how fast the digital world moves these days. A big thanks to the Discord community for helping bridge the gap for me!

And now, let's jump into the news!
🟪 TWITCH
- A new Enforcement Note was launched for Multistreaming, attempting to clarify how or how you're not allowed to promote other platforms.
- Day One Monetization for all US-based streamers starts today. Creators will be able to earn money from their first stream, but will be unable to withdraw it until they become affiliates. (They can spend it on-site or Gift Subs/Bits).
- Related to the above story, Twitch updated the Monetized Streamer Agreement (MSA). I was away when this dropped, so I'll go through it later today and post the breakdown on Twitter, Threads, and Bluesky.
- The bitrate for 2K streaming in Enhanced Broadcasting is increasing to 9,000 kbps (up from 7,500 kbps).
- Twitch is running in-chat callouts for existing subscribers to switch to multi-month.
- Twitch has a new sitewide viewership record, 14,015,175 CCV, thanks to Ibai's La Velada del Ano.
- Twitch's new single-streamer viewership record, for the fourth consecutive year, has been set by Ibai, now at 9,189,762 CCV.
- Twitch CEO Dan Clancy shared his daily routine with Business Insider.
- The GunRun Global Emote was removed, likely related to the situation covered below with VShojo.
🟥 YOUTUBE
- You can now view a breakdown of Casual and Regular viewers in your Audience tab.
- YouTube removed thousands of propaganda channels linked to foreign states.
- YouTube is making Shorts creation easier with new Generative AI features.
- YouTube ad revenue was up 13% in Q2 2025, reaching $9.8B.
- Threaded replies on mobile apps are currently being tested with some YouTube Premium users.
⬛ TIKTOK
- TikTok Live has once again contracted Lionel Messi for some Messi-only Match livestreams.
🟦 DISCORD & TWITTER X
- Discord laid out a clearer set of charts on account caps, server caps, and other restrictions based on account type.
- Elon Musk says he's bringing back Vine "in AI form."
🔲 OTHERS
- Kick added three new Global Emotes: GnomeDisco, ODAJAM, and SIT.
- OTK's first Kick stream had an average of ~12,000.
