Twitch News
- Partner no longer excludes raids from the necessary concurrent viewership (75).
- Twitch launched four new categories: Lego & Brick Building, Miniatures & Models, Coworking & Studying, and Writing & Reading.
- You can once again chat on mobile web browsers when watching streams. They removed this ability some time ago, but fortunately, it's back.
- You can now see any refunds on subscriptions or gift subscriptions that impacted your earnings since August 2024. It's about damn time!
- Power Ups now occupies more space in the Channel Points menu, and the image is no longer customizable.
- The mobile app now has a 100 Gift Subs option.
- CommanderRoot released his Q3 2024 Twitch Stats. Quick analysis: Fewer active affiliates, 1000 fewer Partners, 115 fewer Staff (attrition), and 1M more emotes. Emote inflation is out of control.
- Ironmouse has broken the concurrent sub record previously held by Kai Cenat. The new record is 326,252.
- BibleThump lives on, as the creator, Edmund McMillen, has made it available on FFZ and 7TV.
- The DJ program has two new FAQs answered about enforcement.
- Symphonic has partnered with the Twitch DJ program to allow independent artists to get their music into the catalog.
- Using the 2022 Twitch Leak, the Danish Tax Agency found that 80% of streamers made tax errors in their filings. As a result, they collected an additional 3.8m krone (USD 355,000).
- The Polish Tax Agency is supposedly changing the rules on tips/donations.
- The bonus sub gifts effectively turned an otherwise mid Subtember into a more positive one.

- YouTube Shorts are going long, expanding to 3 minutes starting October 15th.
- YouTube is also introducing a "Show Fewer Shorts" option to show fewer Shorts in your Home feed temporarily.
- YouTube resolved its dispute with SESAC, returning its artists' music to the platform.
- YouTube removed a significant number of channels for spam. The company said this was an accident and would reinstate the channels.
- Discord is testing Video Quests that reward users in exchange for watching a video.
- Facebook says it paid creators $2B this year.
- Whatnot says it has done $2B in gross merchandise volume this year.
- Dexerto had another round of layoffs across a variety of content.
- Malaysians are flocking to livestreaming.
