Artist Badge, VTuber Tag, and Ninja #MMSR1
Welcome to the first-ever Stream Recap, a title selected minutes before publishing or is literally perfect. I'll let you decide which. This weekly newsletter will be sent out on Monday mornings to catch you up on everything you may have missed in the streaming space! Stories will be condensed into their basic details - but offer links to learn more if there's a particular story that intrigues you! Core stories of importance will be available publicly, with deeper cuts requiring a FREE membership!

Twitch News and Platform Stories
Twitch started the week off with a promotion to highlight the Creative category. The #TwitchFridge was 32 hours of streaming that featured 15 creators for 45 minutes each while periodically swapping out art on the fridge. A lackluster promotion that underwhelmed me and frustrated others in the community.
Twitch is getting close to launching the new Artist Badge, which will give creators the ability to grant five people the badge. Like a VIP badge, it will remain channel-specific and can be given to both Mods or VIPs.
They are also kicking off a test of a Simplified Cheer System (I'm calling it a Super Cheer). The system removes bits for those in the test group and offers whole number 'tips' instead of the flexibility of bits. It promises an 80-20 split, BUT is only after fees - which COULD make it a worse deal than bits.
For those impacted by Twitch's Paypal Payment outage and have not yet been paid this month - the next payment attempt SHOULD be this week.
