Creator Profile Sponsorship Highlights

Creator Profiles (part of Twitch Sponsorships) no longer pull Featured Clips and instead allow you to select specific Sponsorship Highlights. You can "Add to Sponsorship Highlights" from your Clips page.

Context:

Twitch continues to build out the Sponsorship product to make it more appealing to potential advertisers, while navigating the complexities of creator needs. Creators' Featured Clips are often community successes, fails, or moments of chaos - which aren't inherently brand-safe or showcase why a brand should sponsor the creator. Creators will surely prefer to feature their best selves if a brand comes knocking.

My Thoughts:

Twitch Sponsorships significantly underpay, but the current economics of streaming means there's seemingly always a creator who will take 1/3 of what they are worth. That said, I think this is a positive step toward a more optimistic future in which Twitch can enable more one-to-one connections between brands and creators. Right now, I'm not convinced that any brands even look at the Creator Profiles, and everything is effectively just a few checkboxes for en masse demographic + game narrowing. So, for the moment, a generally unimportant update in the present day, but it would need to be done eventually - so it's some hopium for a better future.
