Hello all, and welcome to the weekly recap! Another jam-packed edition of the newsletter covers YouTube launches, Prime Gaming is now Luna (Anyone got a Luna Sub available?? It doesn't feel as good as a Twitch Prime), French Streamer Squeezie sets viewership records in a stream broadcast on both Twitch and traditional TV, and Kai Cenat's subathon ended with 1.1 million subscribers!

🟪 TWITCH

• Twitch officially launched the Social Badge system as a limited-time beta.
• Watch Streaks will be rolling out to all creators soon, including a feature to Save a Streak.
• I posted my unofficial Twitchcon San Diego 2025 floor map.
• Twitch wrote an unannounced Safety post about how it keeps Chat Safe on Twitch.
• Prime Gaming is no more, as it has been shuffled under Luna instead. Perks remain the same for the time being.
• Mary Kish was interviewed in Japan about Twitch's presence in the country.
• CEO Dan Clancy shared his Mount Rushmore of streamers, which included Ninja, CohhCarnage, and Kai Cenat.
• Vertical VODs will not be available until "an expanded beta."
• Vertical VOD + Clips will have ads sometime in mid-2026.

🟥 YOUTUBE

• YouTube's Collaboration feature is rolling out to creators on both desktop and mobile.
• YouTube is expanding Gift Goals and Effects Maker to all US creators.
• Live creators can now turn off the Leaderboard system from mobile.
• YouTube is expanding the Extend with AI feature to all countries (except the EU and UK) over the next few months. It allows anyone to remix a Short by enabling AI to generate content up to 8 seconds to add a new ending.

⬛ TIKTOK

• TikTok is rolling out Text Posts globally.

🟦 DISCORD & TWITTER X

• You can now sort Post Likes on TwitterX by mutual follows, top accounts, and recency of the Like.
• A study by Buffer found that paying for Premium on TwitterX boosts the discovery of posts significantly, but the value is declining rapidly.
• Discord is widely launching Arena Quests, which tie Orb rewards to time spent playing sponsored games.

• A new study finds that as Twitch cracks down on View Bots, they are becoming more prevalent on Kick.
