I have had the busiest weekend and an even busier week ahead - so we'll keep this intro very short! Let's just jump right into it!
Twitch News
- New Channel Points redeems, including Animated Messages and Gigantified Emotes, appear on the horizon. We may also see crossover redeems with Bits.
- Twitchcon San Diego 2024 tickets are going on sale this week. We saw a preview of their prices last week - $239 for a 3-day, $159-$165 for a 1-day. There is also a Block Party that can be added on for $110.
- Twitch launched content controls this week, allowing viewers to remove all content labeled with any Content Classification Labels. Those labels are self-selected, but Twitch can enforce (and lock) them if the creator is reported for NOT using the correct labels for their content.
- Thumbnails for sexually themed content are now blurred by default across the platform. Logged-out (and under 18) users also have new restrictions on labeled content.
- Chat Rules have been rebuilt for individualized options, likely to allow them to be used with the upcoming Warning system.
- The menu dropdown Drops Progression indicator was reintroduced.
- Angela Hession, Twitch's Chief Customer Trust Officer, has been removed from the company.
- A few minor changes were made to the Sexual Content + Attire Policy.
- The list of Twitchcon Rotterdam 2024 sponsors is now available.
- A new article was launched to help educate viewers on the benefits of subscribing to streamers.
